FaceApp is back to modify the gender of users in photos
It's back on FaceApp. A year after going viral on the internet as faces age for users, the app is once again among the most talked about topics on the web for displaying its presence though they were of a different genre. Over the weekend, famous and anonymous joined in the fun, flooding social networks with photos.
FaceApp is a picture- and video editor that automatically creates facial transformations using neural network technology. The app uses cloud service providers from third parties (the Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services) to view and edit the images.
Recall that last year, FaceApp has already sparked privacy concerns, but the company claims that the images used in the app will be removed within 48 hours of upload date. The app was also accused of racism in 2017.
