'I'm more than a meme!': Rapper Drake pokes fun at himself and dresses up as Rihanna as he hosts SNL

Rapper Drake shaved off his famous beard and then joked about rumors of romance with Rihanna while hosting Saturday Night Live.
Drake - who was introduced by Chris Rock for his first musical performance - had dedicated his opening monologue to a song about his face being used as a meme: ‘I just wanna scream that I’m more than a meme.’
He then pretended to bring on Rihanna as a special guest - but instead just put on a wig and did a hilarious impression of the Barbadian beauty.

After dancing around and singing like RiRi, Drake poked fun at the repeated rumors that they are secretly dating, rapping as Rihanna: ’I swear we only friend-friend-friend-friend-friends.’
‘Rihanna’s incredible, ladies and gentlemen make some noise for her please,’ the rapper quickly added.
It seemed timely that he would joke about online memes of him because his preparation to be both host and musical guest on the show saw him shaving off his famous beard - sparking a fresh round of memes from fans stunned by the move.

But while showing off his comedy chops, fans also got to see lots of new looks for the star, including with a bald head, dreadlocks - both long and short - and as a 1970s R’n’B star with a rich mustache and long hair at the back.
However, the most unusual look came for a skit where he played a wannabe hero acting as a professional chaperone at a high school dance - with a blonde hair and mutate clearly mimicking WWE legend Hulk Hogan.
The show had started with Darrell Hammond coming back for his popular spot-on impersonation of Trump - but it was Drake who delivered the biggest sting to the Republican front-runner.
'Chris Christie' tried to convince Trump to pick Bruce Springsteen as VP
The Headlines star was playing a political adviser who brought forward a potential third party candidate to replace Trump - even though he acted like he was stuck in a baby’s body.
‘He may have the body of a baby but his hands are much bigger and stronger than Trump’s I have to say,’ Drake’s character remarked, clearly teasing the businessman who has been notoriously defensive about remarks suggesting he has small hands.
In his monologue, after proudly saying he was Canadian, Drake took another pot shot at the politician, saying: ‘I know what you’re thinking, but no you can not move in with me if Trump wins, I’m sorry.’
The opening skit saw Darrell’s Trump on the phone pretending to be his publicist and saying: ‘No it’s true, I’m telling you - Mr Trump is the real life inspiration for Iron Man.’
He was then joined by 'Chris Christie,' played by Bobby Moynihan, helping him choose a Vice President - even though he clearly wanted the job himself.

He dismissed all the candidates suggested - with Chris most patient about Bruce Springsteen - in typical Trump style befre finally setlling on Ben Carson.
When Chris had suggested Carly Fiorina could ‘help you with your woman problem,’ Trump insisted women shouldn’t look up for her, saying Trump-style ’She’s a B-cup, tops.’
And when referred to Marco Rubio, saying before mentioning his name that he was a candidate from Florida who was half-Hispanic and ‘with proven record of standing up for himself,’ Trump had seemed keen as he guessed: ‘George Zimmerman.’
Told it was Rubio, he said: ‘Little Marco? I can’t ask him to be VP until his parents sign the release form.’
Chris Rock introduced Drake for his first performance, singing One Dance with two dancers twerking behind him in short backless dresses, then later rapping Hype while fake snow fell on him as he was surrounded by dry ice.
The Canadian star worked it as he did his best Rihanna impression
His music also featured in some of his skits, most hilarious during Drake’s Beef where he pretended to be furious at slights from the SNL crew and rapping angrily about them, even firing off shots from a gun.
After Pete Davidson teased him about not knowing how to work a TV as he is Canadian, Leslie Jones was too distracted to say hello back to him, Aidy Bryant moved his hat from a chair she wanted - and even the cleaner took away his water bottle when there were ’10 sips left.’
SNL creator Lorne Michaels was then seen telling Drake he was ‘doing a great job’ - with even him becoming a subject of his wrath in the gangster rap-style performance.
‘Good job, that’s it? I’m doing great you bitch,’ Drake sang. ‘Say that again to my face, n***a suck my d**k,’ he said, pretending to fire off a machine gun before later telling Lorne that ‘everyone’s so nice here.’
Drake played a rent-a-car salesman who failed to have a Mustang ready in another skit
He also sang as a sleazy R’n’B legend from 1978 named Dennis Walls he was plagued by problems after forgotten the production boss’s name, with him sent a footstool to his backing bands regular ones, a toy saxophone and a mic that made him sound like a chipmunk.
They finally settled on a revolving bed to sing his sexy song - only for it to speed up until the all fell off.
He had also played a rent-a-car salesman who failed to have a Mustang ready for a couple on honeymoon who had pre-paid for it - calling her a ‘beautiful buxom woman’ and saying of her new husband: ‘I don’t know what she’s doing with him, he must be packing some meat or something.’
He also played an announcer on American Ninja Warrior - looking like he had a shaved head - while Bobby Moynihan pretended to be a contestant determined to win after his Texas town was destroyed by a tornado, even calling himself Captain Tornado.
Instead, he fell into the water at the very first step as he made two attempts on the course - with Drake’s announcer saying: ‘It’s almost as if his heart is in the right place but his body is absolute junk.’
Captain Tornado’s shorts finally fell off as he climbed out f the water, with Drake’s announcer finally saying: ‘That tornado destroyed their home, but this tornado destroyed their spirit and showed its penis.’
He also played a contestant on Black Jeopardy who was teased by the host, played by Kenan Thompson, who insisted e had never met a black Canadian, telling him at one point: ‘I know you're speaking English but it ain’t my English.’
Drake was joked by Cecily Strong and Kate McKinnon on a revolving bed as he sang a sexy song for the ladies
After Drake complained about him putting black people ‘into one category,’ Kenan quipped: ‘I’m going to let you tell that to our American police.’
Kenyan then insisted ‘no good rap comes from Canada’ - insisting he has never heard of Drake when the character played by the star names him - leading the rapper’s character into another tirade, saying: ‘Why do I have to be your definition of black, huh?
‘Your judging me before you know me - it’s making me so angry inside, dog.’
The rapper poked fun at the many memes at his expense
Kenyan then announced that was the ‘secret black phrase of the day’ and that he won the game.
As well as hosting and performing, Drake even made an appearance during the Weekend Update, when Jay Pharaoh did impersonations of famous rappers he claimed were at a secret meeting to help Jay Z handle his Lemonade drama with wife Beyonce.
After doing Jay Z, 50 Cent, DMX, Lil Wayne, Will Smith and even Nicki Minaj, he finally did Drake — with the star himself coming out to complain that he sounded nothing like him.
Jay then copied everything Drake said, showing just how accurate his take on him was and getting a hug at his admitted defeat.
At the end of the show, the star joined the cast and said: ‘These are honestly some of the hardest working people I’ve ever met so please make some noise for them.’
He added: ‘My name is Drake and this is one of the greatest pleasures in the world to be.’
The rapper wowed the crowd with his infamous dancing
