Toyota Innova Crysta Clocks Nearly 15,000 Bookings Since Launch
The recently launched Toyota Innova Crysta has reportedly reached 15,000 bookings since its official launch on May 2. Confirming this information, Toyota Kirloskar Motors told us that about 60 per cent of these bookings have come for the automatic variants. This is truly a positive sign for the company considering the huge price leap this new generation Innova Crysta has taken from the older model. Primarily available in four variants - G, Gx, Vx, and Zx, the new Toyota Innova Crysta is priced from 13.83 lakh to 20.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Toyota has already commenced the deliveries of the new Innova Crysta.
Considering the number of new features and equipment that have went into the creation of Toyota Innova Crysta, it wouldn't be an overstatement to say that this is completely a new MPV. It is also the first Innova in India to offer automatic transmission, which has truly turned out to be a boon for the company considering the response it has been receiving. Automatic transmission in the Innova Crysta is only available in two variants - Zx & Gx, while manual transmission is available in all four variants.
During a recent showcasing at Mumbai, Shekar Viswanathan, Vice Chairman & Whole-time Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said "Ever since its launch in India, the Innova has maintained its No. 1 positioning in its segment. Often referred to as a segment creator and better known to be synonymous with MPVs in India, the Toyota Innova is one such iconic brand which is not just the pride of Toyota but the pride of over 6 lakh owners of Innova in India. Now, with the new Innova Crysta, we intend to take this commitment a notch above by giving our customers the best Innova possible in terms of powerful performance, luxurious features, comfort and most importantly safety. The new Innova 'Crysta' is sure to get everybody excited."
Coming back the MPV, the Innova Crysta has taken a whole new shape which is evidently seen from its bold and aggressive exterior profile along with its smart and luxurious cabin. Based on Toyota's new design platform, the new Innova Crysta gets a SUV-like front profile with the large grille, bold headlamps with projector lights and an aggressive front bumper. Same goes for the rear profile, which gets large boomerang-shaped tail lamps, spoiler and some nice chrome detailing to add that premium touch.
All that said the real change is inside the cabin that comes with premium leather upholstery along with a well-equipped dashboard that comes with a driver-friendly instrument panel with a 3D Design Combination Meter with 4.2" TFT Multi Information Display allowing the driver to access a multitude of information. The cabin comes in both 7-searter and 8-seater configuration with range of new feature.
Under the hood the Innova Crysta comes with two new engine options -2.4-litre and 2.8-litre GD series diesel engines. While the former puts out 147bhp and 343Nm of maximum torque, the 2.8-litre motor promises 171bhp along with a peak torque of 360Nm. As mentioned earlier transmission options include a 5-speed manual unit and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
